Unique Hydra is a strategic partner to SustainPower contributing the design, manufacturing and commissioning of key elements such as the electrical, cooling and gas systems as well as containerization.
The company has in house mechanical and electrical design and manufacturing resources and capabilities. The company is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accredited and DNV, Lloyds and ABS approved design and product supplier.
Unique Hydra’s Contribution to SustainPower:
- Product design and engineering
- Custom-built container fabrication ready for genset installation
- Assembly of water system, heat recovery, cooling circuits, gas train and electrical installation including switch gear and CHP controls
- Final testing and commissioning of complete unit

MAN Diesel & Turbo in Cape Town and the MAN Engines plant in Germany supply SustainPower with world-class gas engines. In addition to this, they also support our vision of becoming the leading gas engine packager in Africa.
MAN Gas Engine Range for Cogeneration Plants:
The MAN engines developed especially for the application with natural and special gas excel through their ultimate reliability and highest energy efficiency. Through their optimum combustion process they achieve best overall efficiencies in excess of 90%.
Today MAN Diesel & Turbo is a world leading supplier of large Diesel engines and turbomachinery with its headquarters in Augsburg. In 2015 MAN in Augsburg celebrates its 175th anniversary.
