About Sustain Storage™
Power generation was just the beginning. We recognise diverse energy storage needs, from backup to peak shaving, and so SustainPower is proud to introduce Sustain Storage™, a division dedicated to battery energy storage systems (BESS). Our turn-key, fully integrated, and modular AC-coupled containerised systems - with optional PV integration - are designed for off-grid and grid-tied applications.

Meet the Leaders Driving Change
Tobias Hobbach
Chief Executive Officer,
Group Managing Director
Tobias accumulated a wealth of experience in Financial Management and Business Strategy during the ten years he spent working for one of the leading German car and truck manufacturers. In 2012, he came to South Africa as the CFO of one of the largest manufacturing companies in the country.
His leadership skills and passion for manufacturing led him to become CEO of a South African engine-building firm, before he founded Sustainable Power Generation in 2016.
Daniel Goldstuck
Chief Commercial Officer
Daniel is a seasoned energy professional who has led and participated in teams responsible for bringing ZAR 9bn worth of solar PV and battery projects (totalling 450MW) to fruition since 2013. As Chief Commercial Officer at SustainPower, he oversees the strategy for developing and selling targeted energy storage solutions that cater to the specifics of the South African and broader African markets.
Daniel was previously responsible for driving SOLA Group’s projects to Financial Close, specifically the cluster of 3x100MW PV plants with private off-takers. He also oversaw their sales and execution of energy storage projects and services.
Robert Tomas
Chief Engineer
Robert Tomas, a born and raised Western Cape local, has spent 19 years in the industry, amassing a broad knowledge base in combustion, steam, oil and gas, marine and offshore, and electrical projects. As a former Project Manager and Senior Electrical Engineer at Unique Group, Rob brought incomparable experience to our team when he joined SustainPower in September 2022 as Head of Engineering and Production.
He has since taken on the role of Chief Engineer overseeing all Gas-to-Power and BESS technical operations and mechanical systems and leads our team of engineers to complete projects.
